Ideas for a New GPHA Sign

At the April 16, 2008 GPHA Board Meeting, Charlene Gaston shared a new mock-up (designed by another GPHA homeowner) of a possible replacement for our neighborhood’s aging sign:

Proposed GPHA Sign

[Greenwood Point Island and sign, formal stone column base concept. Hedge and tree removed. Mailbox re-installed sidewalk on other side of cul de sac, opposite existing curb.]

The GPHA Board would like to hear what you think about this design. Please keep in mind the following points:

  • We would like to move the mailbox in this planter to the sidewalk as part of the redesign; however, we still need to talk to the mail carrier and all the homeowners who share that mailbox.
  • We expect to fund this work through private donations, rather than homeowners dues, because we understand that some homeowners might object to paying for this with dues; however, if private donations are insufficient, the Board may revisit the funding issue.

If you have any suggestions or concerns about this project, please send them along.

You can send email directly to a Board member (see the Contacts page for their email address), or you can send your comments to webmaster@greenwoodpoint.org and we will forward them.

Thanks to Charlene and her behind-the-scenes partners for designing and promoting this exciting change.
